We didn’t think we’d be saying it but fishing in April we had frost, a little snow and very cold temperatures. Not many carp on the bank but we did have a few sturgeon as well as a 37lb cat keeping us warm with all the activity. (You can check out more pictures on our Facebook page and join in the banter, it was also Lenny’s first carp of the year and his PB).
Frost and snow
Fish are cold blooded but as the temperatures drop they slow down too. We found changing your tactics such as moving to deeper water or sunny shallows can help as you find fish looking for a little warmth.
For yourselves though, wrap up warm and pack that hoodie to go! This was also our maiden fishing trip as Bank Rats testing out our new products to make sure they can withstand the wear and tear on the bank side. Check back for new products.
